By day I am an Infectious Disease Immunologist working long hours with stress on my body and mind. But that is not all that I am. I started my yoga journey when my back was giving me such issues, it was recommended for me to do surgery. I didn’t want to go there just yet, so someone recommended I try yoga. My first thought…I can’t even touch my toes, how can I do any of those yoga poses you see in the media. I was wrong. I went to a class that showed me what yoga really is and I didn’t look back. Today I can touch my toes and I have a much deeper understanding of my body and all that it can do.
I am a certified RYT-200 who is trained in Gentle, Vinyasa and Yin styles of yoga. Each one has unique benefit for the body and can be done by anyone. That is my philosophy. Don’t let the pictures fool you. Yoga is so much more than twisting and bending your body in unique postures.
